Smallpdf is a Swiss online web-based PDF software that offers services to compress, convert, edit, and merge PDF documents. I have been on various teams and projects since 2020, tackling different challenges and building new products from scratch.
Staff Product Designer - Sign.com
I focus on designing and growing Sign.com, Smallpdf's spin-off e-signing platform, to deliver an intuitive experience for small business owners. I lead UX, UI, ideation, and backlog review, collaborating with engineering, marketing, and product teams across Sign.com and Smallpdf to drive weekly insights and designs for efficient growth.
Staff Product Designer - Experimental Document Editor
I designed a new document editing tool for the Smallpdf platform, enabling users to create documents from scratch and extending the platform's value chain. I led user research, gathered insights, and iterated rapidly on design concepts, gaining valuable understanding of target users document needs.
Senior Product Designer - Core Experience Team
Joined the newly established Core Experience team to work across different tools and enhance the end-to-end user experience on the Smallpdf platform. I contributed to developing the new vision for the Edit tool, conducted UX research, extensively prototyped, and collaborated closely with the team on the final design to deliver a more powerful and versatile editor.
Senior Product Designer - eSign Team
I joined the eSign team as the designer, where we redesigned and relaunched the tool with new technology and a fresh design language. Our small, agile team created a lasting tool that’s still on Smallpdf today. This relaunch doubled eSign ARR, driven by users whose primary tool is eSign.

As a self-taught product designer, I started out by taking online courses at the Interaction Design Foundation. I participated twice in Adobe Creative Jam in 2018. At this challenge participants get a theme, this could be a phrase or quote and also 10 Adobe Stock credits. From this you have to create an image, animation or illustration. The second time I participated, me and my teammate won 3rd place with our animation project. It was great to challenge myself creatively and design something in a short amount of time, while getting to know other designers.
At Startup Weekend you can experience working in a high pressure environment, where participants can pitch an idea, form a team, validate a business plan and build an MVP, all of this in 54 hours. I took part twice and worked together with teammates and mentors to ideate, prototype and user test our MVPs. It is a great place for networking and working together with people from different backgrounds.
